Christmas Dresses

The Christmas Season is upon us and every couple of years I make the girls dresses to wear for the month or so of gatherings! The dresses last a couple of years so they get plenty of wear through the holidays and beyond!

This year I went with a classic design and added some flutter sleeves and fun fabrics! I made them little caplets they can switch and mix up the colours.

I originally planned to have contrasting ribbon at the waist but it looked better without it!

The girls loved them and wore them for the first time to visit Santa!

Vital Statistics

Dress Pattern: The Sweet Dress from Sew Classic Clothes - With flutter sleeves added!

Cape Pattern: The Amelie Cape - I used the caplet view without the collar and with ribbon!

Fabric: Fabric from Spotlight - Tulle with glitter and spots for the top layer and sleeves. Quilting cotton for the main fabric.

Happy Holidays!

  1. Gorgeous! Love the Santa photo. Made me all teary, remembering how excited my girls used to be with their Christmas dresses every year. They still talk about it every Christmas - they are now 19 and 17. So you are making some wonderful memories as well.
